Why Wait?

Waiting to the last minute to do a task is something we all have done  once or twice before. We tell ourselves that we will complete or in some cases, START the task but that time never comes around until the last minute. When we procrastinate, we may delay the task but time continues to move forward, inching closer and closer to the deadline.

Recently, I have procrastinated on something that has a big effect on my final grade in english. This blog. My first entry was on time but as the weeks seemed to go by, so did the thought of me doing my entrys.

I kept making a mental note to myself that I would get to writing and replying to other peoples blogs but when the time came, I pushed it back to another day.

For my irresponsible actions, I am now sitting here in my room frantically thinking of a way to finish my last post AND comment on 5 more blogs. I have a dire need for a lunch break but I already know, once that break is over, im going to want to watch "Teen Spirit" and relax.

Time is a thing where once it is wasted, there is no turning back to get that time back. Why wait? Why put yourself through unnecessary stress? All that its needed is  too start - and finish- the task when it was first given to you. As Benjamin Franklin once said, "You may delay, but time will not."

Confidence is Key

Gahndi was a well known because of his leadership and influence that lead to Indias independence. He was also known for his insights on life and his non violent protest. I chose this qoute from Gahndi to talk about because its main theme is confidence. What Gahndi is saying here is that a person is who he believes he is.

If a male/female tells themselves that they are a loner and having no friends then they will truely start to believe that is true. Also if a person believes he is successful and is achieving many goals, then it will start to be shown in their actions. When one starts to doubt themselves, it can be known to everyone because you will start procrastinating and slacking up on work. We as human beings should not let doubt rule over us and we must remain confident in everything we do.

A person should not be jealous because someone has "more" confidence than themselves, they have it in them too but it hasn't been yet discovered. If they start telling themself that the task could be overcome and beat then it would be done in the end.

Another qoute about confidence is taken from Mitch Aldom,

"Accept who you are; and revel in it.”

  Thus quotes primary reason is to inform the reader that the person they are is okay and they should embrace every inch of it. They shouldnt put themselves down because they can't be like the Joneses, instead, they should accept who they are and make the most out of it.

Confidence is swelled inside you but in order to see it, you must open the bottle and let it show.

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly

Marilyn Monroe was was well known for her relationships with celebrities and famous personnel. She was quite often judged badly because if these accounts but she always carried herself with her head high and her heart filled with confidence. She believed that if you couldn't respect her for her insecurities and the mistakes she had made in life, then you definately did not deserve to be by her side when she was at her best point in life and was successful.

Yes, wanting to have someone you care about by your side when your life is looking great is a good feeling, but you should also want them to be there for you when your life is going down hill aswell. Being there for someone when they're the prettiest or making money is not as heart warming as you being there when they're not. It shows them that you arent using them for their success but that you are there for them being them. It lets them know that even if they did not have the fame and fortune you will still be there because you accept who they are and every little imperfection that they come with.

I've experienced, on several accounts, a situation in which a friend of mine (who I thought was a true friend) stopped talking to me because they realized my life is not all about dressing in the latest fashion trends. It hurt my feelings for a while but I quickly got over it because I realized I deserve someone who doesn't completely care about the material things and the good personality traits I have. I should be looking for a friend that accepts my sensitivity, low self confidence at times, and recognize that I have had my share of stupid mistakes.

Actor/songwriter Aubrey Graham, or Drake, once said in one of his songs , "Sweatpants, hair tied, chillin' with no make-up on. Thats when your the prettiest I hope that you dont take it wrong." To me, this lyric is related to what Marilyn Monroe said. Drake recognized that the woman he is talking about is pretty when shes in get finest garments and jewelry, but he also accepts her as she is when shes just relaxing with no artificial cover ups like make-up that "hide" her insecurities and flaws. Hes still by her side side no matter what and when she at her "worst" hes still going to maintain his ground.

Accept the ones you care about no matter what happens. Prove to them that your not going to disappear at the first sight of their flaws and insecurities but that you're going to be there for them in the long run. Dont let their bad qualities effect how you feel about them. Take them for who they are as a complete whole. The good, the bad and the ugly.

Beauty

When most people think of beauty, they picture a oustandingly gorgeous male/female that contains the facial and bodily features everyone dreams of having. Having colored eyes,  impeccable skin, voluminous locks and being the perfect height are not the only things that makes a human being "beautiful". Beauty goes deeper than what is presented on the outside, its whats on the inside that counts as well.

A person can have the most attractive face but contain the most ugliest heart. Your looks can take you far but your personality and the way you treat others can take you even further. Who wants to be accompanied by someone who is arrogant and inconsiderate of your feelings? Definately not me. I wouldn't like for my mood to be altered from good to bad because one individual contained so much negativity within.
A persons bad attitude and actions can effect your mood entirely and turn your life in a disarray.I find it so interesting to see these couples in which one of the partners is controlling and treats the other poorly. I often ask myself, "Why would they choose to stay in that relationship if they're being mistreated? Are they afraid that they can't  find another that is as "beautiful" as the last ?"
I would settle to find a person who is not drop dead gorgeous but has a heart full of compassion. I wouldn't mind having him as company because I know I will be treated well and cared for and that the main thing that matters. As the Lebanese-American writer and philosopher Kahil Gibran once said, "Beauty is not in the face; beauty is a light in the heart."
