Why Wait?

Waiting to the last minute to do a task is something we all have done  once or twice before. We tell ourselves that we will complete or in some cases, START the task but that time never comes around until the last minute. When we procrastinate, we may delay the task but time continues to move forward, inching closer and closer to the deadline.

Recently, I have procrastinated on something that has a big effect on my final grade in english. This blog. My first entry was on time but as the weeks seemed to go by, so did the thought of me doing my entrys.

I kept making a mental note to myself that I would get to writing and replying to other peoples blogs but when the time came, I pushed it back to another day.

For my irresponsible actions, I am now sitting here in my room frantically thinking of a way to finish my last post AND comment on 5 more blogs. I have a dire need for a lunch break but I already know, once that break is over, im going to want to watch "Teen Spirit" and relax.

Time is a thing where once it is wasted, there is no turning back to get that time back. Why wait? Why put yourself through unnecessary stress? All that its needed is  too start - and finish- the task when it was first given to you. As Benjamin Franklin once said, "You may delay, but time will not."

  1. Charbrene, I really enjoyed your post. I loved how you completely showed your personality and voice through your words and tone. Whenever there is something to be done it is always more appealing to just sit back and relax, but in life, to get anywhere one must know that there is work to be done. I can also associate myself with falling in to a pit of procrastination. In the end, I truly took pleasure in your post because of your refreshing and clever writing style.

  2. This post made me chuckle. I too have found myself procrastinating a bunch of assignments and before you know it, the deadline is here. In can relate TREMENDOUSLY. And although we tell ourselves we won't procrastinate again, we find ourselves doing it time and time again. We can wait to do something but time will not wait for us. I was fond of how your personality was shown in your writing. I encourage you to keep posting but I do not encourage the procrastination.

  4. As i was reading your post i thought to myself, this is so me. I always wait until the last minute to get things done and when i finally get to them i regret it. We must change our habits because in the future the bad habits will affect us. It is important to use time wisely, indeed. Great post!
